All divisions are ridden in teams, except for the Panther Run. The competition is judged on time. The winners are those who complete their ride in the team closest to the optimum (not the fastest) time. Each division's course will be marked, and maps will be available. All jumps are optional.
Great opportunity to ride out with friends, going fast or slow, jumping or going around the jumps, and discovering life and nature at The Oaks! Our event is to focus attention on the need to address the growing crisis of loss of land for horse-related activities.
Disguised as a competition, the winners are those in each division who finish closest to the optimum time. The optimum time is roughly determined by the speed at which a fox hunter would safely negotiate the terrain. The optimum times are predetermined.
Team Divisions: (Teams= 2-4 Riders)
- Take-Your-Time Turtles: (Walk) 100-120 mpm - approx. 2 km (all jumps optional)
- Wild Hogs: (Walk/Trot) 220-240 mpm - approx. 5 km (all jumps optional)
- Flying Foxes: (Walk/Trot/Canter) 350-400 mpm - approx. 10 km (all jumps optional)
- Panther Run: 1200m XC course (8-10 obstacles) to be ridden @ 350 mpm. Multiple levels of jumps, ranging from 2ft to 3ft, 3in.
Entry Fees: $50 per rider per division. Late Fee of $20 after 08/29/09. Some overnight stalls available @ $30 per stall. Must reserve early.

* All divisions to cross through water. Panther Run riders must wear ASTM/SEI helmets and protective body vests. All entries MUST include liability releases and current coggins. Riders under the age of 18 must have signed parental consent.
