Evaluation and Placement

Evaluation is an important tool to help students begin riding at a level that is safe and comfortable and to appropriately advance in their skill level. Lesson placement therefore begins and ends with an evaluation, following the guidelines below:

  • New students entering the lesson program must participate in a paid Evaluation Lesson to determine their correct level of placement. Please talk to the office about scheduling your evaluation lesson.
  • In addition, all students are evaluated at the end of each session to assess how well the student has completed the objectives for their current level. The student’s mounted and unmounted skills are assessed. Only students who have successfully fulfilled the objectives for their existing level will be allowed to move up to the next level. The sessions are designed to be repeated more than once as needed to achieve the necessary skills and objectives.

Lesson Groups and Sessions

Our riding program is customized for this facility based on community demand and client base. It is focused on group and private lessons offering as many disciplines and levels as possible. We strive to continuously review and revise the program as needed and new lesson groups may form each session.
