The Oaks Equestrian Pony Club Riding Center began in 2009, modeled after the phenomenally successful British Pony Club Center Program. This club currently has over 400 centers and more than 10,000 members.
The purpose of the Riding Center is to make Pony Club membership available to youth who, traditionally, would not be able to participate, due to lack of ownership of, or access to, a mount. Many of our clubs have addressed this issue on a local basis. The Riding Center Program will address it on a national basis.
The Riding Center Program is designed to work with facilities that currently have a riding lesson program in place. The facility must be able to offer the core disciplines of Pony Club and be able to handle the administrative work involved in running a Pony Club Riding Center. The full Pony Club program, and all of its opportunities, will be offered to those members participating through a Riding Center.

Basic Requirements:
- All who enroll must be members of the United States Pony Club organization, with full membership benefits. An enrollment form can be downloaded or provided to you for your convenience.
- PC group lessons will be offered once weekly in four ten-week sessions throughout the year. Each session consists of weekly 90 minute mounted meetings and weekly 45 minute unmounted meetings. Sessions are $400!
- Pay-as-you-go lessons start as low as $31.50!
- Each Pony Clubber will be provided a safe and fun mount for all mounted activities. If a member has his/her own pony that they would like to use for the group lessons, then the mount must be evaluated and approved by the CA, and then allowed to rotate as needed throughout the sessions.
- Each Pony Clubber may also participate in un-mounted lessons weekly for $20. These sessions are usually during the week in the late afternoons or evenings. Un-mounted sessions are a great way to learn about horse management and veterinary care, and to participate in fun activities that work towards your next rating. There will also occasionally be guest speakers at the un-mounted sessions to enhance the learning environment.
In reviewing fees, please consider that the total cost of the seasonal sessions includes the unique opportunity for each Pony Clubber to essentially "own" their own horse, without the cost of purchasing, boarding, and "maintaining" (in the sense of vet and farrier expenses). The Oaks Equestrian Pony Club Riding Center cover those costs for you! You simply get the benefits of enjoying your horse, as you gain a wonderful Pony Club experience together.
